The cemetery was silent-
Except for the lull of the winds calling me closer and closer
The willows-
Mesmerized, danced with the wind.
The car came to a sudden halt.
We got out.
I couldn't make out the lettering of the gravestone,
But, I felt the familar path beckon me closer.
I walked and made small talk.
But - as we got closer to where he lay
All talk dispersed,
And only echoe's of echoes could be heard dissapearing far off in the distance.
I felt a sudden flow of tears-
Pouring out of my eyes.
I couldn't help but overhear,
the ghastly sobs coming from within my companion's soul.
That silence drew me closer than ever before to the grave-
And to my fellow friend.
Ignorance may be bliss.
But, silence- well, it's Heaven for all I know.
